'Human waste' found in Coca-Cola cans at Ireland Coke factory:

[ YIKES! How horrible is that? I am almost speechless. How it may have got there is sad as well. I'm glad I don't drink pop but no matter what you buy you can never be sure what might be in it. Ugh!]

It would seem to me that the carbonic acid would pretty much sterilize things like that, long before consumption.
I'd be more worried about the inorganic contaminants.

Years ago we found a glass bottle of Pepsi at the garage I worked in that had a mouse bottled with the soda. The garage received FREE soda even as we gave it away from the distributor until they closed.

Catch up Cooter, we ... I, at least, was talking about the sugar, now, and cocaine in the past.

Re: Stay away from Coca-Cola in Northern Ireland:
It doesn't matter what geography, I do not do Coca-Cola (or any other carbonated beverage). And for what it is worth, NI is not alone. Back in the dying days of the old Soviet Union, I made a couple of trips to Russia. At that time PepsiCo had the exclusive contract to sell soft drinks in the USSR. In any event it seemed as though there was this strange residue that settled to the bottom of most of their bottles. Of course the same issue existed with the bottled beers served in Russia at that time. Of course at that time the Russians did a good job of serving first rate coffee, soups, and breads. And very little else.
