I have no idea what makes you think firearms are the answer.

To rational folk they are often the problem.

What should I protest, another woman saw me in my knickers? I prefer marshalls, not enough are there, I don't like the idea of arming flight crew, it shouldn't be their responsibility, it is definitely not part of their job description and I'm not so sure they would want it to be. I think they do matter, You don't know if they've prevented a major terrorist attack by searching a bag or just not letting someone on because they had no luggage and paid in cash for a one way flight but I do know they make a weekly report and they certainly score a lot of weapons and it isn't all about terrorism, there is money laundering and transporting of drugs. It accomplishes nothing, well it gives people jobs!

All trains, ships, and even some buses have someone armed aboard.
It is because you don't have access to police, so someone else HAS to be armed.
There is absolutely no alternative.
There never has been any other alternative, and it is even more important with planes, since they can be used as weapons.

But the point is the TSA can not possibly do any good at all.

You should protest because it is an infringement on your rights, for absolutely no possible reason.

Almost all flight crews are ex-military with firearm training that is better than the TSA or police.

It most certainly is part of their job description to enforce the law and protect rights in the air. In fact, they don't allow anyone else to protect themselves, so it most definitely became their responsibility.

TSA could not possibly ever have accomplished anything because no one can on the ground.
If someone has a weapon hidden in something like a boombox, no one on the ground could possibly tell.

Ship's Steward is always armed in the Pacific, including in New Zealand.

But the arms are stored safely. The Steward doesn't front around like he was a leftover from the wild west.

I'm not as secure as you in "absolutely no possible reason" and you are the one that says it's an infringement on my rights, so far I'm not bothered and I'm not feeling that infringement, so you don't need to feel for me, feel for yourself. "Almost all flight crew are ex military," need a link to "almost all" not your guess.

given the martial inclination of US society about 25% of men are either serving in the military or have previously served

Is this the same poster who posted that police should not be armed?
surely not?

there are more ex military in the police - thats the same police you recently condemned as "incredibly badly trained and dangerous to the general public."
