Re: Justice against evil women marches on

Tell me about it, I'm raising kids. The school had no choice but to call the police, the device was illegal and there are children in that classroom who are not bullies for one, secondly it would have gotten back to some of the parents, causing a big stink for the school and probable lawsuits. My 15 and 13-1/2 y.o. grand kids have been in the same grammar and middle school since kindergarten. They take not only bullying but racial/ethnic/gender discrimination very seriously as well, enough so it has always been part of the curriculum as well as guns, smoking and drugs and zero tolerance means zero, they follow through with bullies. The problem lies at the bus stops, on the school buses and outside the school grounds. Kids can no longer play on the school grounds after hours unless with a parent in grammar or middle school.

Using a recording device to try to catch bullying doesn't jeopardize anyone's safety on the highway.

But it IS illegal, there is a little thing called the 4A, if the police cant install a secret wire tap without a warrant why should anyone else be allowed to?

quote:

The school authorities can't be unqualified to judge whether using the recording device to catch bullying was a significant crime while simultaneously serving as cops qualified to judge whether to give someone a ticket or not.

I think that you are misrepresenting what happened

quote:

I suspect school authorities make the decision quite often whether or not to report "crimes" to the police and did so in this case to try to get a woman in trouble

Sorry but what you suspect (based on nothing) isnt worth a whole lot./.

I cant readily find the penalties for illegal wire tap in Virginia but its a felony and in other states carries up to 5 years imprisonment - so we arent talking about a child stealing another childs 5/c pencil here!

In trying to find the penalty in Virginia I stumbled across the information that in the past courts there have SOMETIMES granted immunity in the case of parents recording their child for benign purposes.
