it went from .05% of total volume to .06%, WHEW a massive amount in anyone's fallacy!! Except mine. I understand diluted content, you should as you have quoted as to dissolved materials in water prior. Little difference here. Tint your windows.06% darker do they repel heat so much better, doubtful. Make a .06% sugar to water solution would you be able to taste the sweet? Doubtful. PPM, Parts Per MILLION So of 1,000,000 parts air there are roughly 600 parts CO2? .06%

when was it .05%?

It is currently 0.04% and hasnt been 0.05% for about 1000 000 years (hopefully it will never reach 0.06%)

It has sat at 320ppm (0.03%) for most of recorded history and it has risen by about 30% in my lifetime.

30% is a huge increase

You enhance my point. Was wondering if you were reading. The numbers as such are ridiculously SMALL.

Some times it only takes a ridiculously small number to have a big effect.

Just take a look at nanotechnology -- how small particles (i.e., silver, copper) can affect serious or deadly bacteria to see how some things very small with few ppm can make big differences. Very small particles or few ppm has nothing to do with something being effective or not, dangerous or not.

Birdcharm there are none so blind as those that will not open their eyes to look.

Cooter will happily stand in the dark with a bag over his head and his eyes closed if that is what it takes to not see the truth

variables as small as 2% O2 in a environment can mean imminent death in both too much or too little for humans, for CO2 in atmosphere is there really such a item as perfection in amount? The little rock upon which we live adjusts all the gases of atmospheric value endlessly up and down, they cycle like the wind in a natural scale so why is it the CC Science has to set baselines that will not remain stable WITHOUT Human interventions?

If the atmospheric oxygen fell by 2% no one would notice, (OK maybe a few scientists who were looking for it would).

It would not spell the end of human life as we know it, the Atmosphere is 20.95% Oxygen a fall of 2% would reduce it to 20.53%

HOWEVER if like CO2 its level changed by 30% - up from 20.95% to 27.23% then we would be in trouble and if it fell by 30% to 14.6% they we would all be a bit sick (it would certainly keep joggers off the road!)

Tiny numbers Cooter, tiny numbers!

O2 in atmosphere makes up 20.95 total atmosphere content, I referenced drop or rise by 2% in total atmosphere volume not of total volume O2 which would be 18.95% or increase to 22.95, either side would be toxic.

Two percent of CO2 rise or fall is unremarkable and unnoticeable from .04 total volume in atmosphere.

No if you reduce 20.95% by 2% the result is not 18.95%

If you reduce a number by 2% you do not simply subtract 2

20.95% reduced by 2% is 20.53%
