Nothing as volatile as Crypto currencies though:

If you are of the opinion that crypto currencies are volatile you have the perfect remedy - DONT INVEST IN THEM
(wasnt that simple)

If you think that bitcoin is volatile take a look at gold, or silver or platinum

Re: Explaining "Bitcoin"

Right now crypto-currency as well as gold is just a collectors item that people want hoping it will be worth more tomorrow.

the bottomline, Gold and crypto-currency, can't be used for currency because both are unstable.

Currency must be stable day in and day out, year after year, to be of any use. If it is not then no one can use it. They won't use because it is worth too much (might be worth more tomorrow) and on the flip side when the current trend reverse (as it has recently) people and retailers won't accept it because it won't be worth the value needed (and it might be worth less tomorrow).

Beyond the
Bitcoin Bubble
Yes, it’s driven by greed — but the mania for cryptocurrency could wind up building something much more important than wealth.

Very nice couple in the region I live bought into Bitcoin as it first came out, just a lark of the day, playing with a few hundred dollars they had that could be wasted. They sat on it until cleared $15000/coin, sold off and glad they did as their original six coins netted them quite a haul for eight+ years of growth. They have reinvested Some of that into some other 'Odd' columns while after taxes bought his wife a nice car.

Is this why Bitcoins are worth money ?

• Creating a single Bitcoin token requires at least as much electricity as an average American home consumes in two years. For some enthusiasts of the virtual currency, that’s a problem.

the Chinese govt is clamping down on companies mining cryptic currencies in China since the govt heavily subsides electricity.

Here's a article about bitcoin creating a booming town near Seattle.
