So your autos are not disproportionately HIGHER in costs than US? Boats, homes?

what something costs is directly related to what someone is prepared to pay NOT tax

there is no VAT on house building (although bizarrely there is on house renovation)and there is no tax to pay on housing costing less than £125000 - upto £250 000 its 2%

And materials are In-country produced, brick, mortar, lumber, wire, fixtures where no tariff extensions occur?

seriously Cooter you expect me to know the origin of every nail, brick, tile and plank used in every house?

But there are NO import duties on any item produced in the EU - which covers most of that list.

Then the issue of Violence, UK massive firearms controls Did NOTHING to slow or end violence, just another loose band-aid that does so little effectively:

So John, explain to me HOW the laws as ALREADY on the books that failed will be any better IF the "Assault Weapons" ban occurs? How it will stop these type events?

Then you can explain Why attacking the Mechanism in the War on Drugs Failed, Why Prohibition Failed, how failure to have Insurance while mandated By LAW has Failed, why driving DUI/DWI on alcohol or drugs and ILLEGAL is STILL Occurring?

Explain those to me, to all of us as to HOW the NEW Law or bans or entitlements to something different are going to FIX anything..

The above is typical of how the anti-gun regulations crowd argues.

First you raise the point of violence in the UK. When it is shown that violence in the US is far worse than in the UK, you switch to something else.

The reason the War on Drugs has failed is because we focused on the people using them rather than the drugs themselves.

Imagine if decades ago we had said;

 It's not the cars it's the drivers that are causing traffic fatalities, so we shouldn't add things like seat belts and air bags.

And yet you CONTINUE to ignore the point WITH ALL the safety required excess baggage that many STILL WILL NOT USE or maintain the accident rates STILL KILL greater than 33,000 Per YEAR. Autos Safer, maybe; drivers driving safer, NOT HARDLY.

Place a human with MINIMAL expertise and unwilling to enhance that expertise behind the wheel of one ton OR MORE of Kinetic energy maintaining mass, then add distractions BEYOND reasonable and all we have are ticking time bombs streaming along our roadways past Churches, Schools, Hospitals, Homes where at any one hour in time there are multiple incidents occurring. Not a problem for you evidently.

I am part time driving a semi tractor trailer these days. I haul grain or fertilizer to/from IL and points around both states, I see idiots lane changing no signals, ABSOLUTELEY DID NOT LOOK first, glance down thru or into machines as thumbs hammer away at 60-80mph and all points down to in town speeds, see idiots swap lanes because there was room for their car and stomp on the brakes not fully understanding the gap left open was not a happen chance event but the stopping distance that truck they cut in on needs to make a SAFE stop. Or the Dumbass that flips the cigarette but STILL ALIGHT into the VERY DRY grass of a shoulder or median setting ablaze the very highway the operating public behind him are using. Chucking the cans, bottles, trash ARE HUMAN HANDS not the trash's fault by any sense but the moronic HUMAN tossing it to be done with dealing with it.

It is NOT the machines as in automobiles any more than a rifle in a HUMAN's hands fault, it IS and forever WILL BE the HUMAN aspect at fault as THE HUMAN made or makes the choices, uses the TOOL improperly, incorrectly or Illegally.

As you call for Firearms bans, I too call for more stringent control TO BANS on autos, only fair as THEY TOO are Used so poorly constrained and Getting Worse at it.
