Another Prima Donna who had his feelings hurt

Poor little baby. Couldn't take it when a girl rejected his advances so he went on a shooting spree killing a lot of innocent people in a school.

He's a classic nitwit Prima Donna far too stupid to care about his victims and brainless enough to essentially throw his own life away also. He also illustrates the old saying, "monkey see, monkey do." Behaving like a media puppet imitating other nitwits who went on shooting sprees only to wind up shooting themselves or in prison for life.

But he cared about his bruised ego. That's what was important to him and little else. He might as well have the words Prima Donna tattooed on his forehead.

quote:

One of Pagourtzis' classmates who died in the attack, Shana Fisher, "had 4 months of problems from this boy," her mother, Sadie Rodriguez, wrote in a private message to the Los Angeles Times on Facebook. "He kept making advances on her and she repeatedly told him no."

Pagourtzis continued to get more aggressive, and she finally stood up to him and embarrassed him in class, Rodriguez said. "A week later he opens fire on everyone he didn't like," she wrote. "Shana being the first one."

There is a lot more to look at instead of being selfish. Teen suicide rate has doubled and that goes double for teen age girls. Abuse at home, bullying, heartbreak the leading causes. Recorded attempts are over half a million. The rate of teen depression is overwhelming and teenagers should not be experiencing severe depression. Mood swings, sadness, some unhappy days, yes. We now have teens where we read they are mass murdering and no longer can you assume, abuse, bullying, heartbreak will just end in tears. Kids are murdering not only each other but parents and siblings. Hillary was right, it takes a village and the village is turning a blind eye. Look at this instance, this kid according to the article was seriously messing about with his ex girlfriend for 4 months, just as in other cases people knew what was going on was not normal. Then there are the guns, parents need to be held responsible as well!

I don't see this as the problem.

I believe there are two problems in the U.S. that account for firearm deaths;

1. The availability of guns...

Americans own the most guns per person in the world, about four in 10 saying they either own a gun or live in a home with guns, according to a 2017 Pew Center study. Forty-eight percent of Americans said they grew up in a house with guns.
According to the survey, a majority (66%) of US gun owners own multiple firearms, with nearly three-quarters of gun owners saying they couldn't imagine not owning one.

2. The gun culture.

Combine the above with attitudes that are frequently stated by pro-gun citizens. Their view is that personal ownership of guns is a Second Amendment right, that guns a needed to defend and protect themselves, and that guns are necessary to prevent a tyrannical government.

None of these things are true.

They have created a concept that guns are a solution, not a problem.

Young men need to pay attention to this:

... and not buy into the macho anti science, patronymic cultural mythology, the fake news, that belies the biological/evolutionary reality that woman pick their lovers ... and in ways that often make little to no logical sense even to woman involved.

The unloved need to be educated to the reality that they, guys, are the wallflower waiting to picked. And if they are just willing to just be decent people, just make the effort, they will stand out to some gal.

True, but that is the essence of these types of mass shooters. They are extremely selfish, self-absorbed and obsessed with themselves and how they've been allegedly mistreated. And too often parents and the media play into that by claiming they've been mistreated or bullied. I heard on the news that this killer's father is claiming that he was mistreated. Even if he was, did that at all justify what he did? Of course not.

This society is helping to give these self-absorbed ninnies a sense of justification in resorting to extreme violence for things in the past that would either be ignored and tolerated by kids or at worst, result in tit for tat behaviour. For example when made fun of by other kids a kid might write something obscene about his tormentors in a bathroom. Not grab up some guns and shoot a bunch of fellow students and a teacher.

You've just pointed again to what the problem is. It isn't bullying or heartbreak that leads to these mass shootings because obviously they can lead to other reactions including self-abuse and suicide as well as things like leaving school. And of course kids fighting back in other ways as I mentioned above.

When they lead to mass shootings the shooter is acting based on an overly inflated ego, obsession with how he has been mistreated and placing far too little value on other people. He's truly a Prima Donna who most likely was created by fawning parents. Look at the father in this case claiming that his murderous son was mistreated. So what are we supposed to think now based on that claim, that it was somehow less serious of a crime because his precious son was mistreated? He's still playing the fawning parent.

Sure and the core of the problem is still the same thing. The Prima Donna syndrome. None of those close relatives mattered to these types of killers. What matters is how they've allegedly been mistreated and not allowed to do what they wanted to do. How dare those people keep me from having what I want! What I want is too important. They have no right to keep me from having it.

Of course they should be. They're are creating these little monsters and then in some cases supplying them with guns. People doing both of those things should probably be locked up in prison.

I agree that guns and the gun culture play a role. Guns promote violence among young males because they make them feel more powerful and even can create something of a desire to use them on people. The only other thing that is needed is a lack of respect for other people along with the belief that they've done something that justifies shooting them. Of course it doesn't help to have a society saturated with simulations of macho men running around shooting people in movies and video games.

Also, as I've mentioned before, the popular notion promoted in the mass media that people snap and are driven beyond their breaking point by bullying or other mistreatment can help generate these types of crimes once someone has access to guns. About all it takes is for one of these self-absorbed nitwits to buy into that bullshit.

I don't know how much we can blame things like movies, but I think they contribute to the problem.

They help to foster this idea of guns helping to solve problems, something the NRA has pushed for years.

I believe they can contribute to the problem because being macho and doing macho things are what young men aspire to. When they see macho being defined in movies by gun-toting guys who shoot people it almost has to promote these kinds of mass shootings as well as teens carrying guns to heighten their masculinity in general.

Let's face it. Guns can be fun. They are powerful and it can be fun to shoot them. As long as they are so common and available in this society we need to have people using them who have respect for other people who get their fun from using them without harming other folks.

They definitely need to be kept away from cold-blooded idiots like the nitwit in this case who easily get their panties in a wad and who couldn't care less about other people. Parents who let their murderous kids have access to them probably should be locked up for doing so. If they survive of course.
