Re: Guns for teachers is a better use of taxpayer money than textbooks or after-school programs

I don't think anybody was talked nf about mandated gun-packing teachers. Like anything else regarding education, it should be a choice made by the local governments and school boards. If there would be federal funding the local schools could request it. But it would be a local decision.

I'm not in favor of teachers packing guns and if the federal government were to try to mandate it I would oppose that move with every fiber in my body. But if the federal government were to make funding available for it and local schools took them up on it I wouldn't have a problem with it. I would just not support the local schools' decision to request funding for it.

Oh my, just how moral does that sound ?
But it can't be the whole story. .

The bottom line is not only if you break it you own it , but as soon as if you pay for it, you own it, too. Right ?
It s just pure free market economics ... remember like before Trump, when those were conservative values ?

So if pay for it , so f you encourage there being more guns in schools BY PAYING FOR IT !!! when is it incorrect to ask why did that fool have a gun and who is responsible for enabling that ?

Follow the money

The title of the thread is inaccurate. He didn't say it's a better use of taxpayer money; only that it's a more appropriate use of federal funds because of the proper role of the federal government. This is just another example of Mediamatters' misrepresentation to foment anger and ridicule.

Really Gop?

He said it's "more in line, and more in the boundaries of what the federal money should be used for" and you don't think he's saying it's a better use of taxes?

Really. His point was that federal dollars shouldn't be earmarked for items that are the responsibility of state and local governments. He wasn't passing judgement on the relative value of books, after-school programs and guns for teachers.

That's your interpretation, but I don't see where he's making that exact same point.

He would rather see federal tax dollars used for guns for teachers than for textbooks. I see that as saying it's a BETTER use of those tax dollars.
