So the school DOES receive state funds.

They still have to obey the anti-discrimination provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Florida law which include but ARE NOT LIMITED TO RELIGION.

The Civil Rights Act is superior to any rules the school decides to put in their handbook no matter what the child's religion may be. This case IS NOT about religion. The court case is about whether or not the above cited law has been abrogated. Each side will argue it's interpretation of those laws. The courts will then make a determination as to who's interpretation is the correct one.

Even if not is it different than a job who dictates style or a school private or not has dress codes and personal codes why is that discrimination? Myself, couldn't care less

It's not discrimination unless and until the court determine it is. The plaintiff thinks it is which is why they are suing. The defendant maintains it is not. It is up to both sides to present their cases and await the judgement of the court (if they can't reach a settlement out of court.) If they don't like the decision of the court they can appeal. That's how our judicial system works. We outsiders can present our opinions on boards or on editorial pages but they will have no effect on the final outcome.

What is the discrimination reason? Because clothing/hair are banned by any facility doesn't make it discrimination. My grand daughter cannot wear tops(nor would she) that shows her abdomen to school, is that a court case?

It does if it's filed, katie. However filing isn't winning.

Exactly Katie.

There is no discrimination. Dreadlocks have been on many races heads in history.

If the school's policy is a certain dress code everyone has to participate, not just those who want to.

Filing might not end on a court date either, suits can be tossed out.
