What a surprise!

Another dumbass jury acquits a man on trial for murdering his wife, ignoring plenty of evidence of his guilt. Another predictable outcome of one of the most inept systems for handing out justice ever invented by mankind. Take 12 random stupid and/or biased people and ask them what they think. Should some person accused of a crime go to jail?

Not going to work very well. Almost impossible for it to work well.

It's time to flush our crappy jury system down the drain.

Am I correct in thinking that you havent read the court transcript?
Or attended the entirety of the proceedings?
and that you have absolutely NO IDEA what evidence was produced beyond the partial account given to you in what ever rag you choose to read?

This doesn't surprise me in the least. Many men in our government still think women are second class.

Hoping Ashley's mother's lawsuit will bring justice and nail this azzhole to his coffin.

were YOU at the trial? have you read the transcripts?

from the link

"Ashley's death was initially ruled a suicide by five separate law enforcement agencies,"

One of the new witness statements was from a CHILD who claims to have heard Fallis "confess" but even by his own account what he heard was

" him saying was, 'Oh my God, what have I done? Oh my God, what have I done?'"

which is a long ways short of a confession to anything

and in any case the two people the 'confession' was made to BOTH deny hearing it!

No reasonable jury could properly convict on evidence like that

Still, Ashley's family maintains that law enforcement purposefully omitted information in reports on her death in order to protect "one of their own."

Did you read this?^^^

Do you think cops are infallible and don't have moments of collusion?

Do you think cops always do their jobs correctly?

Do you reside in the US and are a citizen?

Do you know how inept our juries and police can be?

Thought not. emoticon

Of course the family want to blame someone - for all we know they might be devout Catholics faced with the prospect of their daughter being condemned for eternity.

Even if they arent Catholics few families like to accept that their child killed themselves - blaming someone is always preferable

No cops are not infallible and sometimes dont do their best.

I dont see that whether or not I am a US citizen matters one way or the other.

why do YOU think that your police and juries are more 'inept' than any where else?

another version

https://www.5280.com/2017/09/wrongly-accused-one-mans-tragic-journey-colorado-legal-system/

apparently

Ashley Fallis was mentally ill and distraught over a 'miscarriage' on New Year's Eve 2011.

so on the anniversary of her 'miscarriage' a woman struggling with mental illness kills herself - - I didnt see that in the ABC version!

she wasnt pregnant had hence had no actual miscarriage - but she believed that she had been and had lost the pregnancy

I haven't read the court transcript but I have had access to more information than just what I read on the internet. Do you know about the blood evidence on the guy's clothing? Did you know that he threw a hissy fit and got very angry the night of the shooting at his wife because she wanted to smoke some marijuana? How many people who are contemplating suicide want to smoke a joint before taking out a gun and shooting themselves?

The stupid jury in this case didn't care much, if at all, about either the victim or her family. They just wanted to let the guy off the hook.

It didn't surprise me at all either. I would have been surprised if the jury had found him guilty. Juries tend to have trouble putting men in prison in cases like this even when the evidence is even better than what it was in this case.

Based on what I've read the lawsuit will not go forward. There was apparently a statute of limitations on it that expired.

From that very long article told almost completely from the perspective of the defendant who naturally may be inclined to shade the truth in his favor. There is no way the author of that article knows he was telling the truth or that he is an innocent man.

quote:

Most law enforcement experts would likely agree with at least some of Ashley’s parents’ assertions, particularly that every suspicious death be considered a homicide until determined otherwise, and that Tom should’ve been treated as a suspect and separated from other potential witnesses as soon as police arrived on the scene. Even Chief of Police Brandt later admitted that certain protocols went unheeded, some follow-up interviews went undone, and various conclusions were reached before every lab result was returned.
