they THEY should get the vaccine!

surely you are not suggesting that I should take the vaccine and assume the risks (tiny as they are) in order to protect others who are not prepared to assume the risk of having the vaccine?

I agree...why should i have the vaccine...i never get the flu. Let those who get it or are worried about getting it...take the small risks.

I don't think i'm passing on the flu, when i don't have it.

I'm surprised there isn't pill for an ingrown toenail.

Getting the flu and surviving, makes your immune system stronger. When the native Americans were first exposed to European flu, fatality rates and symptoms were high the first time around. But each time it came around, the symptoms reduced, until it no longer was a serious concern, except to those who had not been exposed before.

Exactly!

I think the sciences are the only professions that everybody knows more than the experts.

It isn't a matter of reading and comprehension in science takes years of study. Take global warming anti persons post lengthy articles with gobbly gook wording none of us could possibly understand with math that takes close to a genius. That just means we lack the education. If I want surgery, I go to a surgeon, if I need a plumber or electrician, I gotta go with it, I don't know enough or more like nothing and I would never represent myself in court! And in the case of our so called president of the US, I vote for experienced politicians. I can remove that ingrown toenail though.....

General medicine, including ingrown toenails is not rocket science.

I do my own home repairs. Plumbing included..it's not rocket science either. But then i've been educating myself most of my 65 years and have a mechanical aptitude. When in doubt i look the information up in a book or on the computer.

Most humans are capable of studying if they want to and learning if they want to. After all, doesn't science say we only use 10 percent of our brains? emoticon

If I had a dime for every time someone has declared to me that I could cure my diabetes by ignoring doctors, eating a bunch of cinnamon and ginger or just doing something they read about on the internet, I could have retired many years ago and lived out my life as a wealthy guy.
