Re: The "No Jobs" age:
I was never a big fan of "the dignity of labour" which is probably why I retired from paid work in my early 40s.
what is important is not whether or not you have work it whether or not you have sufficient funds to sustain a reasonable lifestyle

The world has became the bad science fiction movies we watched years ago. They have taken over. Humans are becoming too dependent upon them.

Re: The "No Jobs" age:
the Luddites of the 1810s said exactly the same thing!
as an aside - the word "sabotage" comes from that period when protesting french mill workers would jam up the machines by placing their clogs ('sabot') in them.
I suppose that to have the same effect on a computerised robot you could keep your shoes on and just pull the usb plug out of the back

Saw a thing on the TV a while back about robotic milking parlours the cows wear a collar which is read by the system which cleans the udder, strips the teat milks the cow, feeds it the correct amount of concentrate and logs the milk output - no human interaction at all!
there are already fully automated tractors for ploughing (plowing), spraying and harvesting which line up to within 4 inches using differential GPS
so dont hold your breath in the hope that farm jobs are safe - unless you can fix a tractor!

Re: The "No Jobs" age:
So my daughter's kids may have to look elsewhere. Will shepherding, shearing, sorting wool be done by robots too?

they no longer routinely shear sheep here, apparently it costs about £2 to have one sheared and the fleece (after transport costs ) is only worth 20p.
Most hill sheep here dont see a shepherd from one lambing season to the next, they sometimes get brought down to lamb but as soon as the lambs are weaned the ewes get put out on the hill were they live wild
