[How do you "make America great again" when the leader of the nation is "selfish, isolated, brutish and domineering"? Well...you don't. Instead you make it a reflection of yourself so the immediate future of America is what Trump sees when he looks into the mirror. Not bright and shinny but dark and cloudy. Slow, uncertain, slightly paranoid, with an odd mix of arrogance and self pity. Its not a brave new world but a world hiding under the bed.]

Only in the attempts to take that nation over, not in aiding the little nation in maintaining their own peace. Look to historic record, and as to what is different.

Maybe Trump can answer that question, what does it mean to "Make America great, again." According to him America is in decline and we need to go back to our glory days. Considering we have one of the best economies in the world and certainly the largest MIC in the world, exactly what glory days are we missing? Yet being a global leader does not mean your economy or your military. No, it seems everyone here has a better idea of the US staying in as the Global Leader, what emphasis are you all using?
The other nations despise the US, they look down upon the US but if the US does not supply the funding all the horse hockey or road apples programs dry up as those that look down upon us rely on our money. Time for the rest of the world to play their share.
They need a military force to protect them let them build their own, they need a source of food stocks let them use the int'l markets and stop relying upon that handout we continued to furnish and finance. Our farms see a decline is demand they will swap product lines or styles of production, they will not dry up and all die.

I stated what it means to be a global leader which is obviously different than your definition of follow the money trail. We need each other Cooter, no man is an island.  Other nations despising us is a stretch, not everyone hates our guts, especially the American people, they do hate the aggressiveness of our govt. and those who are rude. I have been treated badly by a handful of people, most wanted to bend my ear or show me a good time or be extremely helpful or invite as a stranger to their home for a meal. I couldn't get away from all the invites in Turkey, rural places that had never heard an American speak outside of tv or the movies, I was invited daily for tea by a young man in a market stall rug shop, where I never bought anything. I found most people are very interested in Americans and in a good way. I also found people anywhere aren't much different than what they are here, there are just more of us to act like wankers.

Americans today are as much a mystery to the other nations peoples as we ever were. The 'Ugly American' is a expected norm and if it does not occur they look to find out who we really are.
I just grow tired of hearing such crap as NK calling for more aid of fuel/food/power generation so they won't restart the shooting or when S. Americans in farming claim we are the problem on prices even as their crops fail and they demand aid from the dependent food suppliers of US excess food stocks.
When the UN calls out for more troops they basically look at the US, they can draw from all associated nations but EXPECT the US to send troops and aid. Unfair.

I lived and traveled for far to long to agree with your assessment of the "Ugly American." as an expected norm. Most people actually still have the ability to judge you on who you are, not where you are from. Assholes come from all countries and I can name a few I found far more "ugly" than Americans.
