A miracle of survival:
A miracle of survival:
One of the Holocaust’s most haunting images has a new chapter after three children in the photo realized that as adults, they have lived just miles from each other.

[What a reunion! It warms the heart to see something positive come out of the horrors of the holocaust.]

Re: A miracle of survival:
Thank you Rose. That was a positive note on which to begin my day. And it truly does represent at least one small positive note to emerge from the horror of the holocaust. Among The most haunting memories I have are the three trips I made to Auschwitz and Birkenwald. The first was alone. The second was with my wife and two oldest children. The third came about ten years later and my youngest daughter and I made a two day visit. Ordinarily my daughter is one of the most outgoing, joyful. Individuals I know. However during that two days I believe I could count on my fingers the number of words she uttered. At dinner after the first day, I asked her what she thought of our first day. She just looked at me with obvious tears streaming down her face. And she simply said "Grazie papa, ti ringrazio". It was at that moment that I realized my little girl who speaks fluent Italian with an Iowa twang, had grown into a mature, caring young woman. Even IF she continued to speak both English and Italian with that damned Midwestern twang.
