How in the world do you take the Ten Commandments as secular, when they supposedly came from Moses? I would say it is obviously not okay, since there has been rulings against. I'm not understanding "creche" to me that is daycare for kiddies.
It depends on the purpose for which it's erected. Also, all you have to do is look at the various influences on our laws, and the Ten Commandments is one. For a long time, it was a felony to commit adultery.

Especially since the first four of the commonly cited version of the Commandments are instructions about which god to worship.
As an observation, rather than being handed down from god they were actually lifted from earlier cultures but that's not relevant to someone claiming the commandments are secular.

Interestingly enough, the biblical definition of adultery doesn't refer to sex outside of marriage. It requires the "offending party" to be married - the Hebrew word that is translated as "adultery" means "breaking wedlock". Therefore, if the parties aren't married they are not guilty of adultery (fornication is a different offense and is not one that is mentioned in any version of the commandments found in the bible.)
As a general observation, except for the first commandments that focus on worshiping god, the rest of the commandments are all common sense rules that any society should adopt so it's pretty hard to argue that our laws are based on them.
BTW - the commandments also make it clear that a man's wife is his property.

The 10 Commandments are Mosaic law, which essentially is Sharia. They are pretty much identical, except the 10 commandments are just the top 10. They also both have a religious connection from the Old Testament, but are not necessarily about religion.

Of course this is about religion.
People love things like this as long as it is representative of their beliefs.
