Just how wide spread is hate in America?

Just how wide spread is hate in America?

White nationalist and neo-Nazi hate groups have made headlines over the last two days for the violent clashes in Virginia on Saturday, but what does their influence look like outside of Charlottesville?

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/14/politics/charts-explain-us-hate-groups/index.html

[Hate is not something most of us think about all that often but for the dedicated "hater" its all they think about. They seem to travel in packs like wolves and like wolves they take advantage of any opportunity that comes up to do what they do. Here's some interesting and informative information about who they are and who they hate.]

Pretty heavily I am afraid to note. Yet it is not all white supremacist based. The hate is in the community at large in that blacks hate whites, whites hate blacks, Asians and Latino hate both the above as well as each other. There is less demarcation as to definition save the exaggeration of white offenses on the media where in places as Chicago the hate of Latino organized groups toward seemingly everyone else is fueling much of the firearms violence there and is downplayed as strictly a firearms enforcement issue.

Should the truth be presented as to the consistency across all ethnic lines of hate it may come to pass the people may change their positions. With jealousy of those that do not have(and does encompass all ethnicities) towards those that have or have worked hard to achieve what they have it may never cease as a problem.

The problem now is exacerbated by the availability and anonymity of the internet. It fosters extremism by giving equal voice to extremists, and the anonymity it provides enables people to treat others horribly in conversation in a way that typically didn't happen when personal interaction occurred face-to-face. Racists don't need to wear white hoods on the internet - the internet is their white hood.

I totally agree, Gop.

But I would add this doesn't only apply to racism.

Just about any group one can be associated with seems to have hatred directed at it.

People have hatred toward the UN, AFLCIO, groups for legal abortions and groups against it, and on and on. Not to mention the hate shown toward political divisions and politicians.

It's all becoming too much and I agree the internet has played a huge role.

A big part of it is the lies and falsehoods that creep through the internet like weeds. I don''t know if any one group is more to blame, but I've seen these falsehoods from all sides.

I agree with both gop and John. The Internet has fostered, indeed nurtured hatred.. A hatred of virtually everybody and everything. And it has allowed individuals to then come out into the open in a violent way that emhavent seen in at least fifty years. I am afraid that the violent racism and white supremacist movements never died they just became somewhat dormant until the advent of the Internet allowed for a rekindling of hatred that has spread in every direction imaginable.

"The problem now is exacerbated by the availability and anonymity of the internet."

I heard on the radio yesterday that that reality was the case for both political extremists and pedophiles, in that before the net they had to just happen to run into other watching the schoolyard and such, now they just have to Google their secret code words.

Americans really need to accept that most of the founding fathers were racists and many were slave owners.

Even Lincoln didn’t believe blacks should have the same rights as whites.

Though Lincoln argued that the founding fathers’ phrase “All men are created equal” applied to blacks and whites alike, this did not mean he thought they should have the same social and political rights. His views became clear during an 1858 series of debates with his opponent in the Illinois race for U.S. Senate, Stephen Douglas, who had accused him of supporting “negro equality.” In their fourth debate, at Charleston, Illinois, on September 18, 1858, Lincoln made his position clear. “I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races,” he began, going on to say that he opposed blacks having the right to vote, to serve on juries, to hold office and to intermarry with whites. What he did believe was that, like all men, blacks had the right to improve their condition in society and to enjoy the fruits of their labor. In this way they were equal to white men, and for this reason slavery was inherently unjust.

So there is no disclaimer in that Rose.

Might some think you if you are not actually making a white supremacist argument , that just because God created all men equal, the Founding Fathers didn't really buy it, so their documents should be given the intentionalist reading: that those inferior races need not be treated so as if they really were equal under the law?

... With no indication that that was not your intent, which I expect it was not, and your omission was just an oversight, still didn't what you actually posted , not, at least, enable, and perhaps embolden the supremacist's cause, just as Pres. Trump's equivocations did ?

No disclaimer in what, Geezess? I don't know what you are talking about.
