Again with "Fake News"?
Colorado is now touting a 6.5% drop in opioid deaths due to legalization of marijuana, Hmmm, how is that when just last month the noted a distinct rise in Heroin and Opioid deaths. Ah yes, change the stats to make more fake news as Heroin is not a prescribed Opioid so it looks better. This from just Last Month:

I'm not sure I understand. What would be the purpose of such a lie?

Re: Again with "Fake News"?
It takes more research, the study didn't include heroin but only opiates. It was done by several researchers at the University of N. Texas. They used their previous studies of medical marijuana where in a 15yr. period they found a 25% decrease with states with medical marijuana and applied it with the data from Colorado. I haven't found the complete text of the study only bits and pieces, so I'm not sure it meets the criteria of a valid study.

Well Rose, the data does not fit Cooter's authoritarian world view, what he believes in his head, so he had to call what does not work to promote or confirm that personal and questionable reality "fake news" .
I hope you understand, now.

Re: Again with "Fake News"?
The question then is whether pot competes with and reduces harder drug use, or as a gateway, increases it?
Personally my experience is that pot smokers were very slanted against other drugs.

Re: Again with "Fake News"?
If there is a gateway drug it should be labeled alcohol and I don't think there is such a thing, there are alcoholics who have never touched any drugs, to pot smokers who don't care for alcohol or other drugs, to one who will ingest almost anything to everything they can get their hands on.

Those are, by definition, not pot heads, errr ... I mean marijuana users, rather they are multi-drug abusers.

Re: Again with "Fake News"?
No death certificate has been signed death by marijuana, although some as you called potheads take it to a new level of "recreational," you certainly will lack any motivation if you smoke all your waking hours.

Re: Again with "Fake News"?
In Portland rents have been raised $200-300 a month and according to those folks and the media you are talking lower income apts. We are looking into to selling our condo and I can't figure this out, one is selling for 25k more another 40k more than what one sold for 9 months ago and they are not posh but old and poorly built, in a great neighborhood though in the hills bordered by posh single dwelling housing, a golf course, forested acreage and one apt. building, in the hills. From what I read awhile back condos typically gain only 3k a year.
