One that I had forgotten that probably belongs in any list of the top five TV show themes is this one. It's the theme from a show called "Hollywood and the Stars."

Bowie's song is an interesting choice for theme song for the show "Berlin Station."

I prefer that some original composition written specifically for the show serve as the theme of a TV show but using a song already written can work.

This show wasn't a network TV show (aired on PBS in the US), but I liked the introduction music to the Agatha Christie's Poirot series.

I like it. Not on the level of the classic Peter Gunn or Perry Mason themes but pretty good.

I like for composers to try their hand at composing original themes for TV shows and films. Producers shouldn't need to look to music already written for their theme songs.

Have you ever heard the Peter Gunn theme performed by the late guitarist Roy Buchanan? In case you haven't, I thought you might be curious to hear it.

I enjoy music, but haven't studied it, although I'd like to hear what you have noted as a flaw so I can listen closer.

Also, this page may be of interest to you.

I see "The Jetsons" theme listed there, I liked that, come to think of it!
