It was really more of a pun, playing off your previous post. But it really doesn't matter, given the weight of this subject.

Re: What weighs 30 trillion tons?

Damn it people I have researched a little into this now and find - to my shock and disbelief that the Earth is in fact getting less massive (lighter) by 50,000 tonnes every year!

about 95,000 tonnes of hydrogen and 1,600 tones of helium escape Earth every year. They are too light for gravity to keep them around, so they get lost. Gone into space.

so when you do the math adding what lands on the Earth and subtracting what escapes we are 50 000 tons down every year!

I get your point, but do all the people?

I suggest we send Justin Bieber and all of his fans into space just to be sure.

BTW
the Earth is calculated to weigh in at 5,974,000,000,000,000,000,000 tonnes

[Boy....have we produced a lot of "stuff" or what? How much weight can our planet take? Maybe we should stop building things? emoticon

Not your fault, but that is incredibly inaccurate and off.

Just look at the carbon emissions waste we deposit every single year.

{...
Global carbon (C) emissions from fossil fuel use were 9.795 gigatonnes (Gt) in 2014 (or 35.9 GtCO2 of carbon dioxide).
...}

https://www.co2.earth/global-co2-emissions

I would guess that figure is way too low, by a factor of over a million or so.
It is just impossible to really comprehend how much we produce.

Is carbon dioxide an object?

Good point. Not sure. But they wrote:

{... every device and construction on land, sea and in the air, every piece of technology, and all the garbage in landfills, is approximately 30 million tons.
...

"It is all of the structures that humans have constructed to keep them alive, in very large numbers now, on the planet: houses, factories, farms, mines, roads, airports and shipping ports, computer systems, together with its discarded waste,"
...}

So I took it to mean they were including the discarded waste in the air.

But if they want to include just solids, then they should still include mountains of waste tailings from mining and refining ores and things like that. I think they are way too low yet? If the CO2 exhaust weighs gigatons, then think how much the gasoline, diesel fuel, coal, propane, etc. must have weighted?
