Is there a revolution in evolution?

Is there a revolution in evolution?

When researchers at Emory University in Atlanta trained mice to fear the smell of (by pairing it with electric shocks), they found, to their consternation, that both the children and grandchildren of these mice were spontaneously afraid of the same smell. That is not supposed to happen. Generations of schoolchildren have been taught that the inheritance of acquired characteristics is impossible. A mouse should not be born with something its parents have learned during their lifetimes, any more than a mouse that loses its tail in an accident should give birth to tailless mice.

[There seems to be a lot of re-thinking going on in evolution. Here's some interesting things scientist are finding out.}

Some of that can be transmitted. My mother had a fear of submerging her face in water, only she and my father knew. My younger brother has the same phobia yet swims often, just as soon as leaves the water HAS to completely dry his face as so irritating. I did not develop that.

Good friend in HS had a abusive father, would physically beat the boys(2), he would molest his own girls(3), he died from an auto accident long before the children understood what he had done and their mother kept it as close to herself as possible while going into a second less vile marriage. My friends brother was sentenced to jail time for molesting his own daughter, my dear friend refuses to marry and decided to have a vasectomy rather than potentially carrying on the family trait. His brother is confined to a wheel chair now due the beatings received in jail.

His sisters too were cruel/abusive to their own children, may not be a educated design but a carry over flaw.

Tools production and use in chimps was seen as a education process, it may be a learned enhancement to what is already in the mind.

Everything from cancer, depression, alcoholism and a proclivity to abuse children seems to pass down through families

Just chauffeured the wife to her five year colonoscopy. She has Diverticulosis, as did her Mother, as does ALL her sibs. Not Diverticulitis that is the effect of long term 'diverticulosis' and not paying attention to diet and control of the malady. Losis leads to Litis.

Has this proved the Hundredth Monkey Effect ?

Hundredth monkey effect. The hundredth monkey effect is a hypothetical phenomenon in which a new behavior or idea is claimed to spread rapidly by unexplained means from one group to all related groups once a critical number of members of one group exhibit the new behavior or acknowledge the new idea.
