Another heartbreaking story in the news
A bizarre story about a mother trusting a stranger who took off with her little girl. The trial is currently underway.
This is a Facebook page in memory of the child ... Memorial Page
Article
It's a horrible story, and I do believe the mother was not wary.

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
To add ... this is a part of this story that really got me.
"Jacksonville Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Valerie Rao testified that Cherish Perrywinkle sustained severe injuries from being strangled and raped. Viewing autopsy photographs of her battered body in court on Tuesday, she became teary and asked to take a break.
Multiple jurors also cried, covered their mouths and turned away as the graphic photos were shown ... the defense called for a mistrial over the interruption in testimony, but the judge denied the motion."

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
The mother took a big chance but women do that everyday. How many women in this society carry any sort of weapon with which to defend themselves if needed?
In this case all of them could have been kidnapped by this creep and murdered. It's a safe bet that the mother was not armed and capable of protecting herself or the kids from him.
Letting her little daughter go with him probably didn't seem to be an extremely risky thing to do because she could identify him and they were in a very public place. Who would have thought that he would kidnap and murder her?
It's certainly not surprising that they caught him. Murderers like this guy are so stupid that they generally make that very easy for the police.

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
How many has Naiveté killed over time forever? She expected better and got the worst. I trust no one further than can see them even some of my own family members, a trait instilled over time of my life where my life depended upon staying alive and retaining my immediate family or friends, my moneys and my life. I trust no one not even the closest friends in these days.

i think that pedophile should be forced to wear a purple band around their wrist. Mother and fathers need to know at a glance. If they take it off, then they go back to prison.
In this case, the mother would of know right away the danger her daughter was in.

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
Looking at that mothers face is painful and I can imagine the guilt she will always carry. I'm worse on what I'd do and for a liberal it is whacked. There is no cure, treatment is a failure, jail is a failure. The act and damage is unbelievable to victims and their families and it actually is a very painful life for the pedophile so why not castrate them and they can live a 'normal' life. Gross isn't it.

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
i heard about a pedophile who never acted on their urges. He did admit that he had the urges and was bully throughout his short life.
If i remember correctly he killed himself and his family wanted to blame those who bullied him.
That always confused me. If you are yourself and admit to who you are, but not act on your urges. What's the point of telling people you have these urges?
Anyway, can you ask to be castrated? and if someone castrates you, will they get in trouble with the law? I think so.

Re: Another heartbreaking story in the news
I agree that they should be marked or tattooed or something, the public has a right to know who is walking among them.
This mother was actually abducted in a Walmart and wasn't aware of the situation. We have to remember the old rule we were all taught as children about strangers. She should have thanked him at the offer when he was approaching her at Family Dollar, maybe get his phone number and let him know that she may be interested in his kind offer at another time. Then, she could have discussed this with friends and made proper arrangements if it was truly an offer.
