James Comey compares Trump to mob boss in ABC interview

Former FBI director James Comey compared President Trump to a mob boss in a new ABC News interview that is set to air this weekend.

Comey, fired by Trump last May, has largely remained quiet about the President and his administration over the past 11 months, but it appears that’s about to change.

The interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, airing Sunday at 10 p.m. as part of a “20/20” special, is “going to shock the president and his team,” a source told Axios.

“How strange is it for you to sit here and compare the President to a mob boss?” Stephanopoulos asks the axed former bureau head in a promo released by the network.

He also asks whether Comey believes the President obstructed justice. Comey does not speak in the clip.

The interview will be followed by appearances on “The View,” CNN, MSNBC and Fox News in the coming week as Comey promotes his new book, "A Higher Loyalty,” which is out on Tuesday.

Comey’s dismissal paved the way for the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, who is now overseeing the federal investigation into Russian election meddling and probing whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin to sway the contest in Trump’s favor.

The Stephanopoulos sit-down will “certainly add more meat to the charges swirling around Trump,” Axios added.

Comey spent five hours wih Stephanopoulos, according to Politico.

Comey made waves last year when he spoke candidly in congressional testimony about his interactions with the President and told lawmakers he took detailed notes after each exchange.

Trump has railed against the former FBI boss, accusing him of lying.

“Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon. And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not,” Comey tweeted in March

No different than a CEO, Which DT has been. They have to be unwavering, unfeeling and very VERY down to business. Any "Mob Boss" would be that same way.

A CEO of a company is different that a president or any political role.

simple question, "HOW?"

A CEO drives a company toward profit, gains support for the product in advertising or repeat customer base support, derives those items on the backs of the employees producing the materials and/or operating the machine to the benefit of the company. They must show a level of empathy to the public in public while maintaining a less than empathetic stance as to demands from employees for ever more benefits/pay/conditions beyond those required by law and must be Ruthless to competitors within law.

How is that any different.

Thing is, Trump was (is) CEO of a privately held company and was answerable only to himself. Not his employees and definitely not his employees.

And he wasn't exactly good at it. He inherited Daddy's money and is supposedly worth about $3 billion. If he'd simply invested that money in a mutual fund that tracked the S&P he'd be worth about $12 billion.

As for showing empathy to the public??? Definitely not something that he's been doing so far.

His trade war with China is going to result in a lot of steelworkers losing their jobs (and even more people outside of the steel industry losing theirs). Then there's the damage that his actions are going to do to farmers (Trump is supposedly making noises about rejoining the TPP in an effort to at least make it look like he's trying to help them). The list goes on.

The job of a CEO is different from the job of a President because a CEO's job is to make the most profits possible for the company at the expense of the worker (the less the worker gets, the more the company gets). A President's job is to see that no one exploits anyone else, but everyone gets a fair share. Trump's first act as President, on the day he was sworn in, was to rescind an order by Obama that would have lowered mortgage interest rates for first-time home-buyers. Everything he has done since then follows that pattern, of benefiting the rich at the expense of everyone else, meanwhile using his office to benefit his own businesses.

Since WHEN is he in office to "see everyone gets their fair share"?

Did you not receive education as to what the offices of our government actually DO??

They are there to establish, maintain and apply LAW, nothing in any reference as to making certain everyone gets a "Fair Share" or even controls any perceived or considered unless an illegal action Exploitation.

Really, steel workers around here are going BACK TO WORK after being released due to CHEAP Asian imports allowed by trade Agreements of the LAST Admin.

And you need to read other than those Left Leaning articles as to DT Speaking of rejoining TPP, We never did "Join" and as to what has been said the Investigation as to ANY Negotiations on the agreement would continue. Nothing as to actually rejoining or 'Joining'.
