First has to be defined what is explicit as mine and yours are a very wide berth. Children are exposed to nudity long before evening tv. Young kids if you haven't noticed see naked as normal it is certain adults ones usually that mistakenly tie nudity with sex as tjey do with nteast feeding. Kids wouldn't think it a big deal until adults with their personal hang ups step in, just like race kids are colour blind, adults screw up lots of stuff up with their prejudices.

You're certainly right about prejudices being imposed on kids from adults. As kids we just see other kids, not representatives of other races. As a child about the only thing I noticed about black boys was that they can run faster than the white boys.

That doesn't change the fact that exposing young children to nudity and sexually explicit material is not only not necessary but a questionable thing to do. Adults being entertained by the cheap exploitation of nudity in films is not more important than protecting kids from things they don't need to be exposed to at a young age.

Besides as I've mentioned, pixelization of the nudity in films is consistent with Supreme Court rulings regarding nudity. Why shouldn't we enforce the legal standards established by that Court? If they weren't important standards then that needs to be acknowledged and laws should reflect that fact.

Who exposes as a parent children to explicit nudity or sex? Naked is not explicit and I'm not suggesting young kids watch adults having sex. Obviously you are not realizing that most often parents have their kids best interests at heart and their kids are often farther ahead in the sexual area than parents think they are or wish them to be. I have no idea what is established by the court but looking at tv and movies, I don't think it's enforced.

The Supreme Court standards regarding nudity are not being enforced. They ruled on two separate occasions that nudity was not protected by the First Amendment. That at best semi-nudity was protected.

Barnes vs. Glen Theatre, 1991, states have the right. What is semi nudity, a topless female and male? Of course not, discrimination of breasts, is it mine are bigger or mine are more sexual?

The Supreme Court ruled in that particular case and another one that the states could pass laws outlawing nudity on stage and require stripteasers to wear pasties and g-strings. That would qualify as semi-nudity or at least not total nudity.

If the states are free to pass legislation banning nudity on stage in a place where only adults can see it why can't the states require pixelization of what the British call "naughty bits" in films and TV shows? Seems like a consistent thing to do from a legal and moral standpoint especially since kids can be more readily exposed to the second form of nudity.

British show "naughty bits" as in full frontal and for a long time. Matter of fact after living there, they are not reserved but very very naughty. Why should states require pixelization for what is certain persons hang ups? You have got to have noticed you are the only person that comes unglued to what is natural and you call naughty bits. That is an issue for you and your own personal hang ups. There is no such thing as "naughty bits'" to describe any part of the human body as naughty is your problem that you are projecting on others. If you are a female, you might want to see "Vagina Monologue" and learn how to love it.......

I was just using "naughty bits" as a term of reference that you would recognize having lived in England for awhile. What I'm getting at has nothing to do with any personal objection to nudity but only a legal and moral standard that our Supreme Court claims is a valid one. If it is a valid one then pixelization of nudity in films and TV shows is consistent with that legal and moral standard and should take place.

Otherwise those Supreme Court rulings regarding nudity were just a colossal exercise in highly selective hypocrisy and discrimination.

Well I'm still at a loss why an adult would want pixielization of so called "naughty bits" Intuition tells me it isn't a darn thing to do with kids.

Protecting young kids is part of it but I also want to see consistent enforcement of our laws and moral standards. If nudity on stage is immoral, not protected by the First Amendment and subject to legal censorship as the Supreme Court ruled I would defy anyone to explain why that same standard of censorship should not be enforced in the case of films and TV shows.

Moral standards and laws should not be so flexible that you can bend them any way you want and get very different results each time you do.
