What does being pro-life really mean?

One thing it does not mean is anti-choice, which is what the mass media uses the word to mean. The term pro-life as used by the media is a propaganda term, one they use to appease those who are anti-choice but who prefer the term pro-life. The mass media does that to appear to be unbiased and not favoring one side or the other in the abortion controversy.

At a minimum someone who is truly pro-life meets the following criteria:

1. They believe the unborn have a right to life.

2. They support capital punishment.

3. They are in favor of reasonable gun control.

4. They believe in health care and medicine being available to all who need it.

5. They support the decision in Roe v Wade, a Supreme Court decision written by pro-life Republican Justice Harry Blackmun.

A man threatened to “slaughter” abortion doctors. It’s part of a disturbing trend.

Let's tick a few off.

1. Freebie

2. I do support capital punishment for those who murder others (I am assuming you meant to say don't support). I believe in the idea of "a life for a life.

3. If there was gun control, only the police and the Bad Guy would have a gun. While I see both sides of the argument on whether guns are plusses or minus, at this point, if is necessary to get guns out to the good people.

4. I don't disagree with it, but it's not my top priority. Mainly if you're an adult who could've made money, but sat around doing drugs and crap.

5. I support it.

I think I have cleared it up.

Speak easy, everyone.

Have a good day!

No. Capital punishment is a way of defending innocent lives. It effectively keeps murderers from killing again.

I believe supporting capital punishment is consistent with being pro-life because it is a way to defend innocent people from a continuing threat.

Depends on the kind of gun control. For example, selling a gun that required the owner to use their fingerprint to use the gun like some cell phones do would not keep good guys from owning guns.

Such people still have a right to life.

Good. It is also consistent with being pro-life.

If you are the Chosen One and know who will kill some one, soon, maybe. Life in prison has the same effect of stopping a convicted killer from killing others. Deny that.

Philler, but THAT is today's false premise.
You always got one.
It's rhetorically illogical that being "pro-life" means supporting capital punishment.
If you support the State taking a life or ruining someone's life don't say you are "pro-life" .

In fact it supports my contention that the "pro-life" movement should be called anti freedom advocates of more big government interference in a woman personal moral decisions.
Is that # 6 ?

This, it seems is a long standing part your "pro-life" movement , too:

A man threatened to “slaughter” abortion doctors. It’s part of a disturbing trend.
Advocates say Trump’s rhetoric is helping fuel a spike in threats against abortion clinics nationwide.

Sometimes my heart says yes but my brain says no. If I had a vote on it, it would be no and sometimes I'd be mad at myself.....interesting the eye for eye premise, Judaism and Islam but not Christianity at least according to Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount.

You have a vote o abortion.
Don't do it.
But "a vote" in the way you mean it would to used big government power to decide for others what they must do, to carry a carry every baby to term, no matter what that means to their life.

I guess I got bit lost, I meant capital punishment. I am pro choice and sentencing the woman or doctor to the death penalty, unless he is a hack or vested in an unethical act is appalling.
