Re: Natural Born Stupidity

They were all more alike than they were different in that they cared more about what they wanted than they did fellow humans whom they either didn't care about or looked down on. Some like Chris Watts probably cared a little about their victims, in his case his own family, but not nearly as much about them as he did his own personal agenda which was to move on with another woman unencumbered by his old family and financial obligations.

quote:

Dahmer was schozid along with the general personality disorder. Gacy also. It is the difference of knowing right from wrong, the did not. They all are psychos/sociopaths. Bundy and the Green River killers still knew the difference between right and wrong, they were rapists which we know is about power, control, possession.-katie

I'm curious about why you differentiate between Dahmer and Gacy and the other two in regard to knowing the difference between right and wrong. None of them knew the difference.

As for the latter two and the contention that rapists are about power, control, possession, that is something that so-called experts claim as if it means something significant. When a guy goes into rob a liquor store what is he there for? Power, control and possession? Or to get money? To get money of course. He only needs to use power to control and "possess" the clerks in the stores so that he can obtain that money. His real motive is money. The real motive of rapists is to hurt their victims because it provides them with pleasure to do so. Power, control and possession are just necessities to enable them to do that.

The difference is schziophrenia.= which Dahmer and Gacy share, schizoids should not be in a courtroom and although the word insanity may be non persona grata, it is what is insane. All of them were classed as psycho/sociopaths but it has been so far classed as knowing the difference between right and wrong and can be held accountable. Arias and others with violent psycho/sociopath disorders I'm not so sure they do know the difference between right and wrong and at the moment neither does medical science. Rape is a violent act about nothing but anger and pain with nothing to do with sex, robbing a store is for money, one has zero to do with the other. Robbers actually prefer not to hurt people, rapists want to.

Where did you get the idea that Gacy and Dahmer were schizophrenic? And if they were schizophrenic, why were they convicted of murder and placed in prison? Also, if Gacy was schizophrenic he shouldn't have been executed.

As for knowing the difference between right and wrong, it's a pretty safe bet that none of the people you mentioned did.

I got the idea because that is what they were diagnosed with and by multi physicians. Why are you asking me of their outcome? They should have been put in a prison for the criminally insane, for life, which is seriously lacking in this country. With both you are talking the 90's and even now people don't really care if someone is ill when they have committed gross crimes. I have no clue whether those who commit these types of crimes no the difference between right and wrong, I do have a problem with them being executed however because at the end of the day we don't know.

It's pretty safe to say they don't know the difference between right and wrong although they do know that what they do isn't legal and that they may be arrested and go to prison. If a profiler or expert believes they know right from wrong at the outset he is already off on the wrong foot in understanding them.

As for not caring that they are insane when they are, that's not surprising. The same sort of folks who ignore evidence of guilt or the lack of evidence of guilt are not going to care much about evidence of mental illness when they really want to nail someone.

If you know you are doing something illegal, you know the difference between right and wrong. It is far deeper than not knowing that difference as then there is no motivation to commit such horrendus crimes. Every psych patient is different just as every cancer patient is different. You insist on lumping, no can do....and every person who commits an evil crime is not mentally ill either. Some are for money and for some reason when one can get a divorce, they whack their spouse, either over money or cheating.

You can know that something is illegal without knowing the difference between right and wrong. When you used illegal drugs did you believe you were doing something wrong, katie? Or just something that happened to be illegal at the time?

Very few criminals know that what they do is wrong. They almost always believe they have some reason for doing it that justifies their criminal acts. In the case of Prima Donnas they believe that what they want is so important that other people, whom they often consider inferior to them, are not important.

As for lumping them together, if their behaviour is like that of other criminals why wouldn't you lump them together? What separates them?

Hell yes, I knew it was illegal and wrong. I knew that with my first beer at a party and it wasn't the illegality it was I knew it was wrong. It's not rocket science. Almost every criminal knows what they are doing is wrong, they just don't care. I believe they justify it, they think they have been screwed over and are getting what they deserve, they think they are victims, not criminals. It is how criminals live with themselves. Human nature is to feel remorse, guilt when you wrong another person, they don't. That isn't in just criminal behavior, that is also in ones personal life, it['s always someone else's fault.

Then why did you take the drug or drugs? People normally don't do things that they believe are wrong. If they did, there wouldn't be much point in people believing anything to be wrong. People would just be doing anything regardless of whether they believed it was wrong or not.

Keep in mind that at the time you were doing drugs there was a whole lot of other things that you were not doing because you believed it would be wrong to do those things.

They don't care because they don't believe it is wrong.

quote:

I believe they justify it, they think they have been screwed over and are getting what they deserve, they think they are victims, not criminals. It is how criminals live with themselves.

The key word there is "justify." You're right that they "justify" it in their minds for whatever reason including believing themselves to have been a victim, as Prima Donnas tend to do. Once they have done that it's not difficult to live with themselves.

quote:

Human nature is to feel remorse, guilt when you wrong another person, they don't. That isn't in just criminal behavior, that is also in ones personal life, it['s always someone else's fault.

If you blame it on the victim that lets you off the hook. Of course not really. Only in their minds.

Why did I do it, it's called young and dumb. I was however smart enough to give some stuff a pass, others I tried and went no thanks. No I didn't murder anyone, I didn't rob or hurt anyone and saying criminals commit acts not knowing it's wrong, seriously? Not everything you do wrong has to be a criminal act either, there are mistakes and bad choices, some are dangerous and against the law.
