Well of course, there is no "defense" in the grand jury hearings.

True but what the prosecution presents to the jury can still tell us a lot about the nature of the prosecution and whether they really want to see someone indicted and prosecuted.

I've agreed with that.

Grand juries should not be simply given a pass though since they are free to indict someone whenever a person like Breonna Taylor has been needlessly shot and killed by a police officer. The circumstances of the case whenever an unarmed person is killed by the police calls for an indictment from a grand jury whenever they have the opportunity to issue one.

If the evidence truly doesn't warrant a criminal conviction that should be left up to a petit jury, the folks who decide the outcome of criminal trials. Grand jurors who refuse to issue an indictment in serious cases like that of Breonna Taylor where an innocent person minding their own business in their own home has been shot and killed by the police are not exactly competent to be on such a jury regardless of the evidence presented to them by the county prosecutor or D.A.

If the facts aren't presented as in the case of Breonna Taylor that effects the outcome of the Grand Jury. The DA in her case failed so miserably it is hard to comprehend. The worst moment was when the AG got up and lied about facts that were known and he dismissed, the look on his face and body language said it all. It was a horrible day to witness.

A Grand Jury can still use its power to contradict and frustrate those officials who want to sweep a case like Breonna's under the rug. They can at least move the case forward to a criminal trial or plea bargain. They need to take advantage of the power for good that they've been given and avoid being lapdogs.

Agreed, you are either going to present all the facts or you are lying. AG Daniel Cameron is a rising "star" in the republican party, he followed Kentucky's racist policies.

Agreed.
A grand jury should indict if there is even a possibility of a crime.
But police and prosecutors are as one, and something has to be done to change that.
Possibly move up to state of federal jurisdiction, since moving to another state would be too much travel?
