Re: Registered Dem
You don't hear about al Qaeda anymore because they changed their name to al Nusra and America. under the presidency of Obama, funded and armed them in an attempt to depose Assad in Syria.
You only hear about Muslim fanatics who are opposed to what America wants. Those Muslim fanatics who are pursuing aims similar to what America wants are not vilified in the western media, so you don't hear about them.

Re: Registered Dem
Names change but the organizations did not and the leaders remain the same. Strange bedfellows in that. All too soon the little skirmish will be over then they will resume the condemnation and attacks of the US, EU and other considered INFIDELS.

Re: Registered Dem
Not only do the name change so do the terrorists from one group to another. How many are in ISIS now that belonged to one of the other dozens of terrorists groups, I think it is unimaginable.

Re: Registered Dem
Both of you seem to be endorsing my comments on Muslim fanatics; their changing names, their unchanging terrorist tactics, which are either blown up out of all proportion or quietly brushed over, depending whether they are fighting an enemy that America approves of or hates.
It is hard to believe a majority of westerners accept this crap unthiningly.

Re: Registered Dem
Not really, just find the conditions of governing bodies as to acceptance when necessary astounding. Can be quite double standard almost to hypocritical.

Re: Registered Dem
We are so stupid for repeating such recent history.
Al Qaeda came from us arming rebels in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets.
So what did we think the rebels in Syria were going to do with all the weapons we are giving them now?

Let's see. Al Qaeda leadership decimated, a name change supposedly to avoid being attacked by us(as well as an alleged disconnect from Al Qaeda) smaller numbers of members operating in Syria and a different goal from their previous one of attacking Americans. If Al Nusra is the new Al Qaeda it sounds like Obama weakened and changed Al Qaeda quite a bit to the point where it at least isn't nearly as big a threat to Americans as it once was.
That sounds like a bit of an accomplishment to me.

Depends on what you mean by leaders remain the same. Obama eliminated quite a few of the Al Qaeda leaders, including its top guy. And according to Yob, Al Qaeda changed a lot, not just its name.

Good rebels as well as good governments seem to be very scarce in the Middle East.
And not all that common elsewhere.
