Demanding information they could abuse is not made better by not having much of a past history of abusing it before.

The information does not make the doctor better able to perform their function.
It could ONLY be used for abusive purposes.

I haven't read those headlines. I don't tell doctors how to perform their functions, I'd get fired. I once quit a job and filed for unemployment due what I thought was physician neglect. I didn't get my unemployment, what I got was told off.

I have been asked as to firearms at work, for my triennial background check for working Nuclear. Told them yes do own firearms, when asked how many/what type told them none of their business. The press for information met a wall they could not pass and so gave up. When pressed for information they got these response from most of the firearms owners at work:

Do you own; Yes
How many; Not enough
How many is enough; More than I own
What types owned; As many as can afford
What specific types; None of their business

Can someone please tell me why some gun owners are so paranoid?

Nothing "Paranoid" about the issue, they do not have a "need" to know what I have in my household. Do you wear a thong? Do you wear women's clothing as a man or male clothing as a woman, do you 'play' with knives, do you cut your food left to right or right to left is just as appropriate.

Because obviously all governments always become corrupt over time, and the first thing they so when they can, is to confiscate all weapons, or imprison those who would even have any knowledge of weapons.

Anyone who is not paranoid, gun owner or not, is really, really stupid.

If Hillary had won, they likely would have been.

I think the employer has a right to ban any weapon he/she chooses in the workplace but I don't think an employer has the right to know if you have a weapon in the house. If an employer feels that strongly there are plenty of persons out there available to work that are anti gun and don't have a weapon in the house, assuming one would not lie. Then again that is what a contract is for.

So we need laws to tell people not to ask questions?

If a doctor asked me a question that I thought had nothing to do with my health, the first thing I would do is ask "Why are you asking this?" It's just possible the doctor has good reasons.

Paranoia, as in "baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others." Paranoia is not a good thing.

Citizens should always be alert to what their government is doing, but focusing on guns to the point where they would vote for someone like Trump over Hillary is a huge mistake.
