Re: "Fighting" racism

There is a good chance that at least some of the founding fathers were Prima Donnas who put what they wanted ahead of the American public. What do you think the odds are that slave owners would be Prima Donnas? As well as people who considered property owners superior to those who didn't own property? And of course white men who considered themselves superior to everybody else including white women who didn't even get to vote?

There is a very good chance that the American Revolutionary War was more the outcome of some Prima Donna government leaders wanting to take over the government rather than any groundswell of American colonists wanting to fight the British and possibly lose everything they had in order to give those founding fathers control over them.

I find "prima donna" an obtuse word.

It's a shorthand attempt to describe the personality of one kind of person who has often caused major problems for other people. They are people who care a lot more about themselves and what they want, even when that isn't very important, than they do the rights and sometimes even the lives of other people.

It maybe "shorthand" to you but i see it as an excuse for those who don't fit your agenda.

Most people know what a "Prima Donna" is, at least in the context of show business. I'm merely applying the concept to people in general, including criminals, and it fits the kind of person I'm describing pretty well.

They are selfish, self-absorbed persons who put what they want, however significant or trivial it may be, ahead of other people. Want a clear, defining example?

Bill Cosby. An extreme example of an egocentric, Prima Donna who simply didn't care much about the women he attacked. They and their right to not be physically assaulted by a pervert meant little to nothing to him.

Oddly enough, that seems exactly what we seem to train people to want to be, with the way we idolize actors, musicians and athletes. Perhaps it is a function of over population?

Like Philler who thinks he can win a point by redefining it, then being right about something unrelated ?

I agree that Prima Donnas exists, but I don't think they are natural and that we are cultivating that trait in our society.
it is sort of synonymous with being a capitalist. The Rockefellers, Gettys, Trumps, etc.

Wealth and the pampered life that can go with it can contribute to someone being a Prima Donna as it apparently has in the case of Trump but children can be raised to be Prima Donnas in poor families. It is not a derivative of capitalism but being raised with a sense of being better and more important than other people with little to no respect for them.
