Trump weak on the military.
He said he will veto a bill giving the military a raise, too, today.

I think we should slash about 70% from the military budget.
All foreign deployments should be brought home, and if they can't find things for them to do, like building and running free clinics, they should be let go.

As far as Russians paying bounties, I think we should pay the Russians reparations for the Soviet soldiers we paid the Mujaheddin to murder.

You slash 70% of the military budget and you mind as well call us Somalia. That I would love to is not realistic.

No, slashing 70% from the military budget would mean we still spend about 3 times more than anyone else, like Russia or China.
But it would mean we would just be a part of team work with other nations, not off on our own immoral quests.

I;m in agreement to slashing the military budget but as far as "teamwork" with Russia, China or SA, fat chance.

I was thinking more team work with Germany, France, etc.
The US has such a big military that we are too unilateral.
We don't have input to our strategies, so often do the wrong thing.

We no longer share "team work" with our counter parts, this president is more impressed with Russia and N. Korea.

There are times I dislike NATO as well, such as how foolish Italy and France were for attacking Qaddafi.

And it may not be a bad idea for the US to get friendlier with countries like Russia and North Korea. If we can reduce tensions, then not only can we spend less on weapons, but so can they.

Quaddfi is like most dictators a cult leader. If you are Italy in 1911, to far back however France in 2011 I agree. If you are going to invade a country to dispose of a dictator, you do what the US did with Japan or Stalin Eastern Europe, you take over the govt. and sink in billions of dollars to repair that country. You don't leave them floundering to engage in civil war. We have had a working nuclear pact with Russia for decades, they are certainly a country we can work with. I think N. Korea is a different kettle, they don't work so well with China either.

I don't think Qaddafi was actually in charge, but the traditional Hill People Elders to the south had picked him as their front man.
By arming the rebels in Benghazi, we essentially put ISIS and al Qaeda in charge of Libya.

But I agree N. Korea is not likely to go well.
Still it does not hurt to try.
