No one has avoided that question.
Definitely you can not catch cv19 twice.
No one ever has, and it is unlikely is will change enough over a lifetime for anyone to become vulnerable to a descendant.
Unlike the flu, there is no history of rapid variant evolution.
Re: ‘I think I made a mistake’: Young man from Texas dies after attending COVID-19 party Okay, Doctor.
Sure.
But then:

Re: ‘I think I made a mistake’: Young man from Texas dies after attending COVID-19 party Its pretty much common currency that post infection immunity for Covid 19 is measured in weeks - months at best.
but since (apparently(?) deaths are caused by the immune response to the virus wouldnt post infection immunity be a very dangerous thing? After all the last thing you would want is an immune system armed to the teeth to fight the virus!

Yes dear. Whatever you say, Katie.
"Definitely you can not catch cv19 twice." Dr. Rigby, {of the who knows from where foundation ?}

Of course anything is possible, but it is much more likely that one of the 2 tests simply was contaminated, and he actually had the flu one of the times.
There just is no expectation at all that any virus like this ever has or ever will be without acquired immunity.
And you had better hope I am right, or else a vaccine would be impossible.

"Definetly" well that is what is not happening. Unlike the flu, are you a virologist? A novel virus does not have a history, that is the problem!!

Except that cv19 is not entirely new, but just a slight variation from a hybrid of cv19 with something else, which allowed it to cross over into humans. Cv19 has been around in bats for millions of years. It does have a long history, but just in bats.
Re: ‘I think I made a mistake’: Young man from Texas dies after attending COVID-19 party Immunity is the ability of our immune system to detect, identify, and produce a mechanism for destroying an invading pathogen.
If we did not have that ability, then we would never get over any virus and the human species would have gone extinct long ago.
What people are suggesting is that there is something unique about cv19 that makes our immune system forget how it beat it last time.
That is pretty much impossible.
Re: ‘I think I made a mistake’: Young man from Texas dies after attending COVID-19 party If "Immunity is the ability of our immune system to detect, identify, and produce a mechanism for destroying an invading pathogen." why do people get dengue repeatedly and worse each
time ?
You are doing that tired if you sound right about something we all must think any other thing you say is right, too, thing, again.
